The Scarsdale Diet hard began as just a two-page diet sheet that was created by an author named Tarnower.

Tarnower had a mission for creating this diet, guessing he had patients who were developing some heart problems because of their weight. He created this to help them keep a slim shape and avoid heart issues.

After he had tested it on several patients, they all had something good to say about the diet plan, Tarnower thought it would be a good idea to write a book on it which was published in 1979.

According to the book, you are only allowed to take in 1000 calories every day, it doesn’t matter how young or old you are, it doesn’t matter your weight, gender, or what you do every day.

It is more of a protein diet. A lot of protein is required here, 43% protein, 22.5% fat, and 34.5% carbs.

This means that you would have to stay away from sweet snacks, and foods like potatoes, sweet potatoes, rice, avocados, beans, and lettuce.

Unfortunately for people who believed in the Scarsdale diet, the author Tarnower died and so the diet was criticized because of the restrictions that were involved in it.
